Vehicle Description 1966 H-code 426 Hemi Charger with 4 speed, manual steering and manual brakes.
One of 250 built.
Build date January 17th, 1966.
Vehicle originally purchased in Toledo, Ohio.
Per fender tag, U1-Sold Car Customer Order, AA1 Z8-Buffed Silver, A6-Console, B4-Buckets, AB73-426 Hemi, C3-4 Speed Manual Transmission, R1-2 Watt AM Radio, P4D-Blue Interior, NB-Black Roof Stripe, TE-Dark Blue Interior on Dash, 117- January 17th Build Date.
Partial restoration by previous owner in 2016, including paint, rebuilt engine, new clutch and throw out bearing, tires, seats reupholstered, new carpet and headliner, mini starter, bigger fan blade, dual bowl master cylinder.
Paint job is decent for driving and local car shows.
Black roof stripe was never added along with black paint in front of the radiator in engine compartment.
Current mileage is 51, 616 and actual per previous owner.
Dash pad, glass and door panels remain original and show signs of age.
Front and rear bumpers show pitting as well.
Non original 426 Hemi casting date March 28th, 1966, with assembly date stamped May 12th, 1966.
Production line Hemi that never received final top pad stamping, top pad stamped WT.
No other stamping found on engine especially on rear of the block.
Non original drivetrain includes A833 4 speed and 8 3/4 rear with 3:
23 ratio.
I purchased in 2019.
In 2022 I added TTI headers, 3 inch exhaust, 4 inch chrome tips, electronic ignition, springs, plugs, plug wires and rear brakes.
I have the manifolds, distributor and springs that were replaced.
Yearly oil change with Penn grade oil.
Car is solid with minor repair work done to vehicles body by previous owner.
Picture of Charger on trailer was how it looked when it was pulled out if its long term storage before partial restoration started.
Gauges, luminescent dash and headlights work.
Two gauges have no luminescent lighting.
Headlights will rotate but not every time, possibly a grounding issue since both motors are warm.
Car runs and drives great and is priced under market value at 75,000.
Clean title in hand.
I'm a 52 year old disabled man who can no longer pursue the restoration this H-code Hemi Charger deserves.
