Eau Claire Area School District Immediate Openings Special Education Assistants The Eau Claire Area School District has immediate openings for Special Education Assistants in various schools throughout the district. Hours and times vary by position. Special Education Assistants are school day positions with no evening or weekend work required. Special Education Assistants help with a variety of tasks and activities, including personal care and supervision of students throughout the school day. This includes playground, classroom and lunchroom supervision, as well as assisting the teacher with clerical work and other duties as directed. Requirements include: Willingness to help student with personal care including toileting, hygiene and feeding. The ability to lift up to 50 to 75 pounds depending on grade level. Experience working with special needs children or adults with medical and/or behavioral needs. High School Diploma Ability to obtain within 30 days of hire a Special Education Assistant License through the Department of Public Instruction and pass a criminal background check.
