POSITION
Summary:
Maintain and repair all machinery, equipment, physical structures, plumbing and electrical systems in a safe and efficient manner.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Visually inspect and test all plant machinery and equipment including machine presses, air compressors, air conditioning, plumbing, light fixtures, water chillers, slitters, forklifts, motor controllers and electrical lines.
Investigate unusual sounds, vibrations and smells from machines/equipment to detect malfunction and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and repair machine.
Dismantle defective equipment and install new or repaired parts.
Perform preventative maintenance to equipment and maintain proper inventory levels of maintenance parts.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Install and repair electrical or electronic devices/components as needed.
Plan, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment according to published maintenance schedule.
Repair & replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators & related equipment.
Utilize supplier techs to help troubleshoot mechanic issues as necessary.
Supervise techs when onsite if preventative maintenance or repair can't be done in-house.
Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment such as programmable controllers Other duties as assigned.
Ensure cleanliness/organization in the maintenance shop, maintenance office and spare parts area.
Ensure that 5's are always being practice and implemented SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum 5 years industrial maintenance work experience in a manufacturing setting; specifically in the aspects of mechanical and electrical system handling.
Hands-on experience or at least familiarity with utility equipment (air compressors, air dryers, chiller, air handling units) Should also be familiar with the electronics, pneumatics and hydraulics and machine PLC.
2 years of electromechanical education preferred.
Trained to read and interpret schematic drawings (electrical, hydraulic & pneumatic and the likes) and also documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels.
Strong math aptitude including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in all units of measure.
Ability to work on Windows based computer and office applications.
