POSITION
Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Destination Specialist. Working collaboratively with our Purchasing team or one of our six Destination Managers, this role involves proactive management of a portfolio of tours, including planning, buying, contracting, pricing, and market release. Responsibilities Support Destination Managers for day-to-day management of specific destinations and tours. Assist in buying activities, contract negotiations, and maintaining high quality standards. Coordinate with internal buyers and subject matter experts for negotiations and contracting. Update supplier information and vendor services in our Peak 15 software system. Manage detailed supplier communications, contracts, and documentation. Coordinate onboard cruise events, initiate payments, and book shore excursions. Monitor occupancy, generate reports, and communicate with suppliers. Assist in evaluating supplier performance and manage changes, as necessary. Collaborate on guest communications, marketing materials, and training sessions. Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND
Experience:
Associate degree in purchasing, supply management or equivalent experience. Preference given for an undergraduate degree in travel, business, marketing, or a related field. At least one year of relevant travel industry product and commercial experience preferred. Proficiency with computer applications and equipment, including Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams) and web conferencing software (Ring Central, Teams). Excellent mathematical, analytical, and communication skills (verbal and written). Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to problem-solve, working effectively under the pressure of immediate deadlines. Team player with the ability to collaborate across departments. Timely communication and follow-up to support coworkers, suppliers, and stakeholders. Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally. Experience traveling by motor coach, cruise, trains, and aircraft. WORKING CONDITIONS:
The preferred location for work is the corporate headquarters in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. The office environment may have moderate noise levels from office equipment and verbal interaction. Work hours are generally during the regular business week, but there may be variations due to the time of year and department demands. The job may require the ability to travel domestically and/or internationally as needed for site inspections, destination familiarization, conferences, and familiarity with our tour conveyances such as motor coach, cruise ship, train, and airplane. The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time, as well as some walking, bending, twisting, stooping, grasping, reaching, and lifting of light/medium materials up to 50 pounds. Frequent mental and visual concentration is required for computer usage. Some physical demands, including sitting, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. TECHNICAL AND HOME-OFFICE REQUIREMENTS (IF WORKING REMOTELY):
Must have a distraction-free workspace/environment with space for a desktop computer with two monitors. Must have a stable power source and internet connection, including a dedicated high-speed internet and ethernet connection. Connection cannot be wireless, Wi-Fi extenders, Wi-Fi repeaters, or hotspots. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
