This position requires creativity, flexibility, strong attention to detail, and a deep passion for building a stronger recovery community in Eau Claire County and beyond.
The ideal candidate will be a deeply curious individual with a dynamic personality.
They'll be a storyteller, a great listener, and a natural leader.
They'll know how to work with systems and inspire change from the inside.
They'll be someone who just gets it when it comes to peer support, collaboration, and community.
Our Community Services Coordinator will be paid between $20-$27 an hour depending on experience.
This position requires a flexible schedule with typical hours being between 10-6 p.
m.
, Monday through Friday.
However, because of events or meeting times, there may be times when this person will need to adjust their hours to work earlier, an occasional evening, or weekend.
This position is projected to work between 25-30 hours a week.
However, if the right individual wanted more hours that could be arranged.
It is likely that this person will roughly spend 40-50% of their time providing direct service to participants in our service area, 25-30% of their time on outreach and community collaboration, and the remainder of their time on internal administrative duties.
This is NOT a remote position.
PEER SUPPORT RELATED DUTIES:
Assist peers in identifying meaningful health and wellness-related goals and walking with them as they go through the process of reaching those goals.
Empower and encourage participants to advocate for themselves.
Share desired wellness and healthy lifestyle resources with consumers when asked.
Use self-disclosure of lived experience when it would be helpful to the peer.
Complete all necessary and required service documentation in compliance with state and quality assurance standards Attend necessary meetings with service teams Keep eligibility to provide services by meeting all training, continuing education, and documentation requirements Engage in regular communication with peers, management, and other providers as needed.
Maintain self-care and personally defined recovery Seek out learning or training opportunities relevant to services provided ADMINISTRATIVE RELATED DUTIES:
Assist with monthly invoicing and quality assurance note processing Keep accurate records regarding service time, supervision, and continuing education Meet required deadlines as defined by contracts and management Document delivery of services as required by agency, state, or federal guidelines Adjust to shifting policies, requirements, business needs, etc.
Adhere to strict privacy and confidentiality rules at all times.
COMMUNITY & OUTREACH RELATED DUTIES:
Attend community events, sometimes outside of normal business hours, to represent At The Roots LLC through panel participation, staffing an information booth, etc.
Offer assigned groups and run/coordinate/manage events as needed, sometimes outside of normal business hours Attend and participate in local action groups, committees, etc.
to represent the company, advocate for community recovery needs, and seek out opportunities for partnership and collaboration REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES Has lived experience with mental health challenges, substance use, and/or a history of trauma, incarceration, or institutionalization.
Valid driver's license, good working personal vehicle, and insurance Comfortable expressing emotions and sitting with the emotions of others A deep passion for and desire to learn more about mental health challenges, substance use, and support Good interpersonal communication skills with an ability to adapt to the audience and situation Respectful, professional, and non-judgmental attitude Strong ability to establish and maintain healthy boundaries Experience participating in, facilitating, or developing wellness or recovery pathways, training, and/or support.
Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds and an ongoing desire to develop cultural awareness Working knowledge of computers and smartphones Proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel and Google Docs/Sheets Familiarity and basic Canva skills Functional understanding of email and appropriate written communication etiquette Comfortable with public speaking with demonstrated presentation skills Solid understanding of the application of peer support, its history, and recovery culture Willingness to drive to all counties in which At The Roots LLC is a contracted provider to provide services as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Completion of certification, related education, or extensive experience in TWO OR MORE of the following areas:
Peer Support/Peer Mentoring Curious Communities Training WI Certified Peer Specialist Wellness Recovery Action Plan Intentional Peer Support Emotional CPR Alternatives to Suicide Hearing Voices Network Support group facilitation Other directly related peer support training Marketing/Event Planning Administrative/Quality Assurance Public Speaking Leadership ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be willing to submit to and able to pass a caregiver background check as required by the State of WI and be cleared in all contracted counties to provide services.
Must have a valid driver's license, and car insurance and be able to pass a motor vehicle record check Must be willing and able to provide letters of recommendation and proof of any/all certifications.

Flex Scheduling - We don't want our employees to have to take vacation time for things like appointments, kids being sick, etc.
We trust our employees to do their best to schedule non-work commitments around their work schedule while also realizing this isn't always possible.
